ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF), a non-governmental humanitarian organization aimed at providing critical support to displaced populations in Northwest Nigeria, participated in a media chat organized by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on the security challenges driving displacement in Sokoto State.
The roundtable featured key stakeholders, including Mustapha Umar, Director of Relief and Rehabilitation at the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the leader of Rundunar Adalci Mal.Basharu Altine Guyawa, Sokoto State Chapter and Prof. Muazu Shamaki, Secretary-General of the Sokoto East Development Initiative.
AIF’s Founder, Aliyu Sidi Attahiru, outlined the Foundation’s ongoing interventions for internally displaced persons (IDPs), which include the provision of shelter kits, food items, hygiene supplies, WASH services, and other essential non-food items.
A powerful segment of the session featured live testimonies from IDPs, who shared firsthand accounts of the violence and hardship that forced them out of their homes. Stakeholders emphasized the urgent need for improved humanitarian coordination and sustainable solutions.

The engagement concluded with an exchange of pleasantries and a shared commitment to alleviating the hardship of displaced populations across the state.
