The Institute for Conflict Resolution, Peace Building and Conciliation (ICRPC), in collaboration with the Institute of Cyber Security Professionals, organized the induction of new Fellows and training of members on Cyber Peace Building.
The program was held on 27th September 2025 at the Novare Central Training Hall, Abuja, with the theme:
“Multi-Stakeholder Approach to Cyber Peace Building: Bridging the Borders, Securing Futures.”
At the event, the Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees of ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF), Aliyu Sidi Attahiru, MBA, FICRPC,who doubles as the Northwest Regional Coordinator of the ICRPC was formally inducted into the institute as a Fellow.
The induction recognized his contributions to peacebuilding, humanitarian services, and his commitment to promoting conflict resolution strategies across Nigeria.
The induction ceremony was followed by an intensive training on cyber peace building, which brought together experts, scholars, and practitioners to share insights on strengthening digital security, conflict prevention, and cross-sector collaboration.
Key resource persons during the event include;
Dr. Emmanuel Achus Jah, Department of Political Science, Nigerian Army University Biu, Borno state. He presented on “Cyber Peace Building: Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration and Bridging the Gap.”
Dr. Izuka Elkanah O., FICRPC presented on “Cyber Diplomacy and Confidence Building Measures for Peace.”
Barr. (Dr) Uzoma K. Christine FICRPC, presented on Cyber security, Peace and Global stability – Risks and Opportunities.
while Dr. Dan Mugera presented on “Mapping Cyber Threats and Conflict Drivers.”
The sessions emphasized the need for cooperation among diverse actors to address emerging threats in cyberspace and prevent their escalation into national or regional conflicts.
The training recorded wide participation from professionals across multiple sectors in Nigeria, including:
High ranked Military and security personnel, Government officials, Researchers and academics, Peacebuilding experts, ICT specialists and Humanitarian actors etc.
At the end of the program, the participants, including newly inducted fellows, were duly certified for both the induction ceremony and the training on cyber peace building in Nigeria.
The induction ceremony and the successful conduct of the cyber peace building training marked significant milestones in advancing conflict resolution and digital peace initiatives in Nigeria.
