Today the 10th of October, 2020 the MMAWT Legacy Initiative has officially flagged off its Annual Back to School Program amidst the Covid-19 at the Sokoto State Government House.
As a stakeholder in people’s empowerment, particularly the vulnerable groups, ASATTAHIR International Foundation received special invitation to mark the distribution of special packages to schools as well as pupils and students.
After brief remark by the convener, Hajiya Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal emphasized the need to extend support to the less privileged people. She also encouraged parents and school authorities to pay attention to guidelines and protocols for the prevention of the corona virus.
On his part, Executive Chairman Zakat and Endowment Commission, Malam Lawal Maidoki encouraged wealth to do individuals to imbibe the culture of supporting the needy and vulnerable groups.
Profs Aisha Madawaki and Sadiya Omar Bello both spoke on the need to support children and women in various spheres of of livelihood. They all emphasized the need to provide schools with the various necessary materials to ensure the safety of pupils and students during school sessions. On the other hand, the Chief Medical Director of Maryam Abacha Hospital spoke extensively on the required health protocols necessary for the prevention of Covid 19 Pandemic.
High point of the event was marked by presentation of large quantity of grains and various skills acquisition related equipment to women and vulnerable groups by Hajiya Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal as her contributions to women empowerment.
ASATTAHIR International Foundation was represented by its Office Manager, Zuwaira Umar Yabo. After lectures and good will messages, the gathering posed for group pictures, which rounded off the ceremony.
