Today the 15th day of February, 2020 ASATTAHIR International Foundation participated in the grassroots enlightenment campaign against the scourge of Sickle Cell Anaemia in Gwadabawa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, which took place at Mamman Suka Village one of the eight wards earmarked for the campaign.
The campaign is being championed by a serving Corps Member in the Local Government, Dr. Blessed Agba Oromonna in collaboration with E-health Africa, MTDI, ASATTAHIR International Foundation, assene laborex and Sickle Cell Well Africa Foundation.
The campaign, today, began with a brief lecture to an assembly of people at the Primary Health Centre of the village on the dreadful ailment of Sickle Cell Anemia. Thereafter, kids who came along with their parents were screened. Those whose results show they are victims or carriers were counselled and given some medications.
A total of one hundred and forty eight people were screened at today’s outreach. The turnout was impressive as members of the community responded to the call for the awareness campaign.
The foundation was represented by the Chairman of the Board of trustees, Aliyu Sidi Attahiru and the Secretary and CEO Dr. Yahaya Tanko Baba
