ASATTAHIR International Foundation Condoles with the People of Sokoto East, particularly Sabon Birni and Isa Local Governments over the incessant banditry attacks
This was contained in a statement Signed by The Executive Secretary of the Foundation Professor Yahaya T Baba and made available to the Press on 31st May, 2020. at the Foundation’s Corporate Headquarters, Sokoto State.
The statement reads partly “in the wake of incessant violent attacks against the people of Sokoto East, particularly Sabon Birni and Isa Local Governments, leading to loss of many lives and enormous valuable property, ASATTAHIR International Foundation expresses its heartfelt condolences to the people and families affected by the carnage”.
The Foundation also expresses its sympathy to the Government and people of Sokoto State over these unfortunate and dreadful incidences of senseless and babaric killings across Local Government Areas of the Sokoto East Senatorial District.
The press release also expressed the delight of the Foundation on the swift and proactive response of the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for his initiative, particularly the invitation of the Federal Government for collaboration to tackle the menace, which accordingly yielded positive outcomes. The release added that the meeting of the governor with President Muhammadu Buhari has since led to the visit of the Chief of Air Staff and deployment of airforce in the affected areas, as immediate measures to contain the babaric exploits of the ravaging bandits.
Similarly, the Foundation commends the humanistic gestures of groups and individuals who provided various relief packages to the victims of the crisis.
The statement added that “it is our fervent prayer that almighty Allah will continue to guard and protect all the vulnerable communities whereas Government at all levels are implored to treat the security of lives and property of the citizens with the paramount attention it deserves.
