ASATTAHIR International Foundation Presents Learning Aid (Portable Typewriter) to Maryam Shehu Adarawa, A Visually Impaired School Girl at the A.A. Raji Special School in Commemoration of the International Women’s Day:

Today the 12th of March, 2020, a Women delegation of ASATTAHIR International Foundation led by Barrister Rashidat Mohammed presented a gift of a Learning Aid (Portable Typewriter) to Maryam Shehu Adarawa, a visually impaired school girl and one of the vulnerable persons under the Foundation’s care and support. The gift is aimed at facilitating and fast tracking the learning progress of Maryam as a physically challenged person.
On arrival at the school, the delegation led by the Legal Adviser of the Foundation, Barrister Rashdat, accompanied by the two female Trustees of the Foundation, Zuwaira Umar Yabo and Sa’adatu Musa Gotomo and the Foundation’s two female corps members, Patience Ajiga and Modinat Ashiru were warmly received by the Principal, malam Aliyu Modi Sifiwa. After a brief interaction with the Principal on the essence of the visit, the delegation proceeded to the Classroom of Maryam Shehu Adarawa for formal presentation of the typewriter.
After a brief remark and motivational talk by Barrister Rashidat on prospects and hope that awaits educated people, regardless of their physical challenges, the gift was formally presented to Maryam with applause from the class and the entourage.
After the presentation, the leader of the delegation emphasized that this gift is a mark of commemoration of the International Women’s Day and recognition for women that are struggling to be educated. Barrister Rashidat argued the event ought to have taken place on the International Women’s Day but could not hold because of other similar engagements related to the Day.
After the presentation, the Principal thanked ASATTAHIR foundation for their steadfastness in the support of vulnerable persons, particularly girls and women in the society. He also encouraged other organisations and individuals to emulate the foundation in order to ameliorate the sufferings and difficulties of the vulnerable people in the society.
