*ASATTAHIR INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION PARTICIPATED IN THE FLAG-OFF CEREMONY AMBULATORY THERAPEUTIC FEEDING CENTERS IN SILAME AND WURNO LGAs BY MEDECINS SANS FRONTIERS*

Today 8th August 2024, ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) took part in the flag-off ceremony of Medecins Sans Frontiers ambulatory therapeutic feeding centers (ATFC) in Silame and Wurno LGAs Sokoto state.

AIF’s Head of Programs and Research Rufus Yagkong in his goodwill message commended MSF for initiating and implementing live saving interventions in the state.

He noted that hunger and malnutrition are some of the effects caused by poverty and insecurity which consequentially women and children suffer the most.

As a response to the current realities he highlighted that in the nutrition component of AIF, the Foundation feeds at least 3000 people monthly through its feeding program.

He also urged all stakeholders to ensure the therapeutic supplements supplied at the centres by MSF reached the target beneficiaries by supporting in the monitoring, sensitization and awareness raising campaigns to mothers, heads of households and community leaders.

The ceremony was graced by the honourable Commissioner Ministry of Health, government representatives, MSFs expatriates, national and multinational organizations, religious and traditional leaders.
