ASATTAHIR International Foundation Participated in a Zonal Sensitization Workshop on Ending Violence against Children and Promoting Girl Child Education in Nigeria for Child Focused NGOs, Security Agencies, Social Welfare Officers in Nigeria:

As one of the foremost Nongovernmental Organizations working on women empowerment and the protection of children, ASATTAHIR International Foundation participated in a Zonal Sensitization Workshop organized by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. The workshop took place on the 26th August, 2020 at the Women Development Center, Sokoto.

The Honorable minister of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs Dame Pauline K. Fallen, who was represented by the Director Child Development, Haj. Jummai Muhammad declared the workshop opened. In her remark, she emphasized the urgency for a viable framework for the protection of women’s and children’s rights.

The Workshop featured presentations on Child Rights Act, the role of Caregivers in ending violence against women and children, child marriage and harmful practices, child friendly justice system and the challenges of drug abuse among young people.

The Foundation was represented by Sa’adatu Musa Gotomo, a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. The various sessions were interactive with contributions from participants on how to end violence against women and children in Nigeria.
