ASATTAHIR International Foundation intervened in support of a young and vulnerable person with glaucoma disorder

Again, ASATTAHIR International Foundation Provides Support to a Young Vulnerable Person undermined by sight impairment  in Sokoto, Nigeria:
Once again and yet again, the less privileged and people with different types of vulnerabilities are taking  ASATTAHIR Foundation into full confidence. In less than two months of wide broadcast in both conventional and social media platforms, particularly on its empowerment activities on the less privileged and venerable persons, the foundation has received in audience and phone calls from various people and groups seeking for support and intervention. The recent being the call and visit of Jamilu Hassan on the 20th February, 2019. Jamilu, a thirty five year old father of five, living at Yargoriba area along Atiku Road in Sokoto, Nigeria. He approached the foundation for urgent support to save his diminishing sight and for improved livelihood.
The said  person suffered sight impairment four years ago as a result of glaucoma disorder. Since then, he struggled  to access the best of care while striving with the challenge of livelihood. His slim vision has disposed and displaced him leading to economic dis-empowerment and social exclusion. Jamilu’s ordeals cut him off from medical care, which further deteriorated his sights.
After prolong interactions with Jamilu, the foundation took him to Noma Hospital for the reexamination of his case by an eye specialist.  The outcome was mixed. Even though there is no hope for surgical procedure, the expert advised that his remaining sights can be saved if he stick to drugs he is placed on. Jamilu’s hope of continuing medication is hopeless given his economic predicaments and lack of support for livelihood. It is on this ground that ASATTAHIR Foundation obliged to take full responsibility of all his routine medical expenses. These include his transportation to the designated medical facility, cost of his routine drugs and a little stipend for upkeep. Malam Jamilu was further counselled to stick to his medication and given hope that as soon as his condition stabilize, there could be an arrangement to make him economically active and self reliant. He appreciated the foundation and particularly the media for the wide publicity, which afforded him the opportunity to access the Foundation’s support package.
