As part of its efforts to support the mainstreaming of vulnerable groups in the society, particularly youth and rural women, ASATTAHIR International Foundation has in collaboration with YINAS Digital Innovation Hub (YINDIH) flagged off free bvn enrollment for youth and rural women in Sokoto state.
The flag-off ceremony was done at Badon Rafi Community in Wamakko Local government of Sokoto State. The Village Head of Badon Rafi, Alh. Aminu Abubakar Rafi hosted Flag-off ceremony at his palace at about 10: 30 am.
While receiving the delegation of ASATTAHIR Foundation, which consisted of its chairman Aliyu Sidi Attahiru and its Executive Secretary, Prof. Yahaya Tanko Baba as well as staff of YINAS Digital Innovation Hub, the traditional ruler expressed gratitude to ASATTAHIR Foundation for choosing his Community for the flag-off.
In his response, the chairman of ASATTAHIR Foundation thanked the traditional ruler for the opportunity given to the Foundation to support the mobilization of youth and women for engagement in mainstream economic activities. He stressed that the bvn enrollment is key to accessing various economic empowerment programs being rolled out by government and other donor agencies. Prof. Baba also stressed the value of self reliance as key to the empowerment of youth and women in our society.
Women and youth turned out en mass to take advantage of the community enrollment exercise, which is free from inconveniences and financial burden.
The program will continue in various rural communities as efforts to step up the campaign and mobilization of youth and rural women for economic mainstreaming and sustainable empowerment.
After the flag-off ceremony, the enrollment exercise continued without hitches. About a hundred people were successfully enrolled today.
