In Collaboration with the Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) extends its Food & NUTRITION Support Packages to IDPs from Borno state hosted by a community in Sokoto state.
The packages were delivered on Thursday, the 17th of November, 2022 at Gidan Sanda community, which hosts the IDPs. The IDPs consist of women, children and distressed men, who escaped violent conflicts from Borno State. The intervention was a follow-up to an earlier discussion with officials of SEMA that emphasised the need for such kind of support to this category of the vulnerable people.
The support is an extension of the Foundation’s feeding program that targets IDPs in the Sokoto metropolis located in different areas. As a commitment to the special and peculiar needs of these IDPs from Borno State, the Foundation has obliged to Support the people with food packages on daily basis in order to reduce the hardship being encountered by them.
AIF was led to the community by the representative of SEMA and the Protection Officer Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Ukashatu Abubakar. The Field Operations Assistant of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Hamza Usman also formed part of the delegation as an observer.
The Leader of the community that hosts the IDPs, Mallam Lawali Musa Rafi who received the food on behalf of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude and commended the foundation for its kind gesture.
