ASATTAHIR INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION EXTENDS IT’S FOOD AND NUTRITION PROGRAM TO SOKOTO ORPHANAGE HOME*

As part of it’s humanitarian strive to serving humanity and enhancing the quality of life of the people, particularly the less privileged and the vulnerable groups, ASATTAHIR International Foundation has On the 3rd February 2023 extended it’s longstanding nutrition program to Sokoto Orphanage Home as furtherance of its interventions for the OVCs.

AIF’s team was pleased to be received by the newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Maiden Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Hajiya Amina Muhammad Jekada and the Officer in Charge of the Orphanage Home, Hajiya Zainab Usman alongside Committee Member of the Orphans welfare.

Commending the state government for it’s foresight by creating a special ministry for humanitarian affairs in mid January 2023, the Executive Secretary of the Foundation Prof. Yahaya Tanko Baba noted that it has since started creating an enabling atmosphere for CSOs to implement meaningful and impactful interventions with ease in the state.

He stressed that OVC-targeted interventions is part of the thematic areas of ASATTAHIR International Foundation. He stressed the Foundation’s commitment to complementing the efforts of the State Government at all times and it’s readiness to work closely with the Maiden Ministry. This commitment is demonstrated by the Foundation’s flagging off the daily supply of food packs to all the OVC in the Orphanage Home for a reasonable length of time.

Receiving the supplies and backed by the staff Members of the Orphanage home, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Hajiya Amina Muhammad Jekada expressed gratitude to the Foundation for such a kind gesture. In addition to commending the Foundation, she expressed optimism that with such complementary efforts from humanitarian organizations such as AIF, burdens on the government will be minimal.

The Permanent Secretary having inspected and tasted the food, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the meals and water supplied to the Orphanage Home.

The excited children all received their meals with joy and the visit ended with group photograph and exchange of pleasantries.
