The Board and Management of ASATTAHIR International Foundation today 19th July 2019 paid a courtesy visit to the zonal office of the National Emergency Management Agency in Sokoto. The visit was meant to forge partnership and collaboration in Disaster Prevention and Management in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States.
In his opening remarks, the Ag. Head of the Sokoto Zonal Office, Dr. Kofo Soleye commended the Foundation for it’s interest in disaster prevention and Management. He argued that the task of preventing and managing disaster is a collective one that requires the support of platforms such as this. He outlined areas of intervention such as enlightenment campaigns, relief support, rehabilitation and management of displaced people as possible areas of collaboration with the ASATTAHIR International Foundation.
Responding to the remarks of the Ag. Head of NEMA, the Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Dr. Yahaya Baba expressed gratitude to the leadership of NEMA for the warm reception accorded to it. Similarly, the Chairman of the Foundation, Aliyu Sidi Attahiru outlined the strategic objectives of the Foundation and highlighted areas for collaboration with NEMA. Some of the foundation’s activities in related areas such as support for internally displaced persons and people affected by disaster are also highlighted by the Chairman.
Finally, the Ag. Head congratulated the foundation and urge it to come forward immediately with programs and projects for partnership and collaboration with NEMA. Group pictures were taken, which concluded the interaction.
