ASATTAHIR International Foundation and National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Human Persons (NAPTIP) on the verge of forging Partnership:

As part of it’s commitment to intensify the protection of vulnerable people, NAPTIP has paid a courtesy visit to the corporate headquarters of ASATTAHIR International Foundation, today the 2nd August, 2019. The NAPTIP delegation was led by the Zonal Commandant, Hassan Hamisu Tahir. On arrival, the delegation was received by Chairman of the Foundation, Aliyu Sidi Attahiru. In his opening remarks the chairman, Aliyu Sidi Attahiru expressed gratitude to the delegation of NAPTIP for their interest in the activities of the foundation. He gave an overview of the foundation and it’s objectives and reiterated the link between the foundation’s core activities and the mandate of NAPTIP. The chairman also appreciated the need for collaboration and partnership for the protection and empowerment of the people.
On his part, the Zonal Commandant of NAPTIP gave brief on the structure and policy framework of NAPTIP. He submitted that NAPTIP is established primarily to protect and rehabilitate victims of human trafficking. It is also empowered to apprehend , investigate and prosecute suspects of human trafficking.
Shortly after the remarks by the Commandant, the Secretary of the Foundation, Dr. Yahaya Baba reflected on the submissions of the Commandant and assured NAPTIP that the partnership sought in the areas of support and collaboration, particularly enlightenment campaigns and whistle blowing is welcomed and approved by the management. He further committed the foundation to shoulder the expenses of translating the messages of NAPTIP contained in their pamplets into local language for effective education and enlightenment.
After the briefs, the meeting transform into interaction with some clarifications sought on various issues and responses given from both sides. The meeting was concluded with exchanges of gifts and pleasantaries. The group posed for a picture before departure.
