*ASATTAHIR INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (AIF) RESPONDS TO EMERGENCY DISPLACEMENT IN BODINGA LGA, REACHING 1,000 INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS WITH EMERGENCY WET FOOD ASSISTANCE*

On Saturday, 11 July 2026, ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) responded to the emergency displacement in Bodinga LGA, Sokoto State.

In response to the recent displacement crisis, AIF successfully provided emergency wet food assistance to 1,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs), mostly women, children, persons with disabilities, sheltering at Danjeka Primary School and surrounding host communities.

The intervention was implemented in line with the humanitarian coordination framework led by the Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to address the immediate food needs of affected populations.

AIF also commends SEMA for its effective coordination of humanitarian partners in the state to ensure timely and coordinated emergency humanitarian responses across the various locations hosting IDPs.

The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Bodinga LGA Branch, supported the exercise through effective crowd management, while the distribution was witnessed by the Bodinga LGA Desk Officer of SEMA.

During the response, AIF also identified critical unmet humanitarian needs requiring urgent attention, including Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) kits and dignity kits for adolescent girls and women of reproductive age, Shelter & Non-Food Items, Food Security & Livelihoods, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services for displaced persons.

AIF remains open to partnerships with government institutions, humanitarian and development partners and donors to address these priority needs and ensure coordinated, comprehensive, and sustainable support for displaced populations and host communities.
