On Monday 11th May 2026, ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) participated in the 20th anniversary celebration of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Sokoto Zonal Command.
The event was graced by AIF’s Founder, Aliyu Sidi Attahiru, MBA, FICRPC, Member of the African Union Ambassadorial Assembly Agenda 2063, the Executive Secretary, Prof. Yahaya Tanko Baba, as well as staff of the Foundation.
In his goodwill message, the Executive Secretary commended NAPTIP for its two decades of impactful service in Sokoto state, highlighting the strong collaboration between AIF and NAPTIP in the areas of human trafficking prevention and the protection of fundamental human rights.
The event attracted a wide range of partners and stakeholders, including former and current Zonal Commanders of NAPTIP, representative of the Director-General of NAPTIP, heads of security agencies, representatives of the Sokoto State Government, civil society organizations, traditional and religious leaders, as well as members of the press.
There were goodwill messages from various partners and stakeholders who commended NAPTIP for its remarkable 20-year journey and contributions towards combating human trafficking and protecting vulnerable persons. The celebration also featured a documentary presentation showcasing NAPTIP’s achievements, milestones, and successes over the years.
Highlights of the celebration included the cutting of the anniversary cake and the presentation of awards to deserving individuals and partner organizations. AIF’s Founder was also honoured with the privilege of presenting a plaque to one of the distinguished award recipients.
