On the 16th of June 2026, ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) participated in the Stakeholders’ Engagement on the National Disaster Preparedness and Response Campaign (NPRC) 2026, organized by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in collaboration with Sahel Consulting.
The engagement themed “Strengthening Disaster Risk Governance for a Resilient Nigeria,” brought together key institutions including State Emergency Management Agencies (SEMA), security agencies, development partners, humanitarian actors, farmers’ associations, and other critical stakeholders.
Discussions focused on strengthening disaster preparedness systems, improving risk reduction strategies, and enhancing coordinated emergency response mechanisms across Nigeria.
The forum also provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, partnership strengthening, and alignment of national and subnational efforts toward building safer and more resilient communities.
A key highlight of the engagement was the presentation of the 2026 Seasonal Climate Prediction (SCP) and Annual Flood Outlook, alongside the development of the Sokoto State Crop Weather Calendar and Livestock Comfortability Index across all LGAs. These tools are designed to support farmers and livestock farmers in making informed, climate-smart decisions, reducing risks, and improving agricultural productivity in the face of climate variability.
