*ASATTAHIR INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (AIF) PARTICIPATES IN HIV PREVENTION CAPACITY-BUILDING TRAINING ORGANIZED BY NATIONAL AGENCY FOR THE CONTROL OF AIDS (NACA) IN COLLABORATION WITH THE SOKOTO STATE AGENCY FOR THE CONTROL OF AIDS (SOSACA), WITH SUPPORT FROM UNFPA*
ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) participated in the Training of Community HIV Service Providers on HIV Prevention for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Their Male Sexual Partners, organized by the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) in collaboration with the Sokoto State Agency for the Control of AIDS (SOSACA), with support from UNFPA.
The four-day training, held from 29th June to 2nd July 2026 at Sokoto Guest Inn, brought together community HIV service providers and civil society organizations to strengthen their capacity in delivering evidence-based HIV prevention interventions.
AIF was represented by two staff members, including the Protection Manager Sa’adatu Musa Gotomo, who actively participated in sessions covering HIV epidemiology, sexual and reproductive health, HIV prevention strategies, gender dynamics and power relations, integrated service delivery approaches, and monitoring and evaluation.
The knowledge and skills acquired through this training will further enhance AIF’s efforts to deliver quality, community-centered health and protection programmes, particularly for vulnerable populations, while supporting national and state HIV prevention priorities.
AIF appreciates NACA, SOSACA, and UNFPA for organizing this important capacity-building initiative and remains committed to collaborating with stakeholders to promote healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.
