*ASATTAHIR INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (AIF) PARTICIPATED IN SOKOTO STATE RAPID COMMUNITY VACCINATION PLANNING, WALKTHROUGH AND GIS MAPPING ORGANIZED BY RAISE 4 SAHEL*


ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) has participated in a 2-day Rapid Community Vaccination Planning (RCVP), Walkthrough and GIS Mapping organized by RAISE 4 Sahel project on the 25th and 26th January, 2024.

The Foundation was represented by its Head of Programs and Research Rufus Yagkong, Child Protection officer Sa’adatu Musa Gotomo and Nutrition officer Zuwaira Umar Yabo.

Outlining the objectives and expected outcome of the activity, the state program officer R4S project Dr. Ajibade Adebayo stated that the objectives of the activity was to understand the context related to vaccination in Zero-Dose Immunization Program (ZIP) communities in Sokoto state, to identify actions that can be integrated into the RCVP, to ensure supply and demand issues related to diverse community groups are considered in the planning process among others.

In his goodwill message, the Head of Programs and Research of ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) Rufus Yagkong noted that the Zero-Dose Immunization Program supports by R4S in Sokoto state is timely.

While acknowledging the gaps in the routine immunization in the state, he noted that there are existing structures in the state with the necessary capacity that the project can leverage on.

He assured that AIF will gladly support the project through advocacy, sensitization/awareness raising campaigns, capacity improvement and community engagements.
Sessions during the activity included the overview of R4S Nigeria ZIP project, identification of missed communities, their barriers and way forward, group presentations, interactive sessions etc.

The activity ended with a group photograph and exchange of pleasantries.
