ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) participated in a 2-day capacity building on advocacy strategy and budget tracking organized by Civil Society – Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria.
The 2-day training started on Tuesday 28th November and ended on 29th November 2023.
During the workshop, the overview of CS-SUNN and UNICEF project as well as the nutrition situation in Sokoto state was equally presented to the participants.
Other components of the training include; introduction to advocacy on 6 months paid maternity leave to nursing mothers, budget tracking, action plan development and implementation modalities, monitoring and evaluation of advocacy programs.
An in-depth discussion of the link between budget and nutrition was presented to the participants.
In the same vein, the participants were assigned a series of group activities and plenary sessions on budget trends and analysis as well as individual pre and post tests.
By the end of the training, participants understood the linkage between budget and nutrition, the principles of an effective advocacy as well as the rationale behind them.
