ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF’s) team led by the Founder and Chairman BoT Aliyu Sidi Attahiru MBA, FICRPC, On Tuesday 15th September, 2026 inspected the completed solar-powered borehole with an overhead water tank facilitated by the Foundation in Kasarawa Community, Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Speaking during the inspection, the AIF Founder expressed satisfaction with the quality of work delivered and reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to improving access to safe and reliable water for communities in need.
He noted that the intervention followed a series of engagements and dialogues with community stakeholders, during which access to clean and affordable water was identified as one of the community’s priority needs.
He further recalled that AIF had, during its engagements with key community figures, committed to advocating for interventions that respond to identified community needs. The Foundation subsequently engaged relevant stakeholders, resulting in the provision of the solar-powered borehole and overhead tank for the benefit of the community.
The Founder also highlighted some of AIF’s interventions and empowerment programmes implemented across communities in Wamakko LGA, including the distribution of 50kg of raw food items, provision of sewing machines and grinding machines, Cash for Food assistance, and other interventions currently being implemented. He emphasized that AIF will continue to advocate for and facilitate interventions that address the needs of vulnerable communities.
Speaking on behalf of the Kasarawa community, Alh. Usman Jibrila Kasarawa expressed appreciation to AIF and its Founder for the intervention. He said the speed with which the project moved from planning to implementation exceeded the community’s expectations.
He noted that the new water facility would significantly reduce the burden on residents, particularly children who previously had to travel long distances in search of water.
In the same vein, the Executive Chairman of Wamakko LGA, represented by the Vice Chairman, Abubakar Muhammed Wamakko, commended AIF for complementing government efforts in providing essential services to communities.
The Vice Chairman immediately requested the community to nominate a responsible person to oversee the facility, assuring that the nominated individual would be placed on the Local Government payroll to support the sustainability and proper management of the water facility.
The community expressed profound appreciation to AIF and offered prayers for continued success, strength and greater opportunities for the Foundation to extend similar interventions to other communities in need.
AIF remains committed to working with communities, government institutions and other stakeholders to promote sustainable development and improve the well-being of vulnerable populations across Sokoto State and beyond.
