Today 25th March 2025 AIF’s team received a high-powered delegation of the National Commission For Refugees, Migrants and IDPs at it’s corporate Head office in Sokoto.
The visiting team was received by AIF’s Founder and Chairman Board of Trustees Aliyu Sidi Attahiru, the Executive Secretary Prof. Yahaya Tanko Baba and Heads of Departments.
The visit was a buildup of the Commission’s 3-Day engagement in Sokoto state to harness context specific feedback and initiatives from local actors that would potentially translate into durable solutions for IDPs in Nigeria.
The team led by Dr. Mubarak Yusuf was accompanied by the Northwest Zonal Coordinator of NCFRMI, Arnaya’u Shu’aibu and stsff from various departments of the NCFRMI, Abuja office.
The conversation centered on some of the AIF’s existing and ongoing initiatives and systems on data collection, management and coordination, which can be streamlined to support the national strategy on durable solutions for IDPs in Nigeria.
In the meeting, AIF showcased some of its useful tools and resources and expressed its readiness to collaborate and generously share its resources with NCFRMI and partners across various levels for the actualization of the durable solution for IDPs.
The meeting reemphasized the urgency for renewed commitment to ensuring effective and durable solutions for IDPs in Nigeria by both parties.
