The ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) participated in a two-day training on Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) organized by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC).
The training which was held between 23rd and 24th October 2025 brought together relevant government agencies, humanitarian partners, and stakeholders working in displacement management and humanitarian response in Sokoto state.
The objectives of the training was;
1. To build the capacity of relevant government and humanitarian actors on CCCM principles and practices to enhance effective support for displaced populations.
2. To provide a platform for knowledge-sharing and coordination among humanitarian partners and government stakeholders.
3. To strengthen government ownership and participation in displacement management and humanitarian response.
Activities during the training included pre- and post-tests and sessions on modalities for improved coordination among government institutions and partners on humanitarian response in the state. Participants also shared field experiences and discussed best practices to strengthen collaborative response efforts.
Through the training, participants gained a deeper understanding of CCCM frameworks and coordination mechanisms, strengthened collaboration with other humanitarian actors and government agencies, and enhanced their capacity to apply CCCM principles in their ongoing and future humanitarian interventions.
At the end of the training, participants appreciated the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) for organizing such an impactful training and reiterated their commitment to strengthening humanitarian coordination and response in Sokoto state.
