ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) had a roundtable discussion with the office of the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sokoto state on the 8th November, 2023.
AIF’s team led by the Founder and Chairman Board of Trustees Aliyu Sidi Attahiru was received by the honourable commissioner of the Ministry hon. Ya’u Muhammad Danda.
In his remarks, the Founder used the medium to notify the Ministry of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by AIF and Danish Refugee Council to distribute 170 shelter kits across 3 sites in the state.
This ushered AIF into a contract with DRC to map hotspots and screen target beneficiaries based on the designed eligibility criteria for selection into the program.
He recalled how AIF has collaborated many times with the Ministry since it’s establishment in the areas of protection, nutrition, WASH etc. particularly to IDPs, PLWDs and orphans in the state.
He reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to continue complementing the efforts of the government and to maintain the cordial relationship with the ministry for the benefit of the people of the state.
Similarly, the executive secretary of the Foundation, Prof. Yahaya Tanko Baba while commending the Ministry for the noted that a strengthened partnership with the Ministry is critical to the work AIF is doing in the state.
The Head of Programs and Research of the Foundation, Rufus Yagkong added that his team has concluded the screening process and eligible beneficiaries were selected
The honourable commissioner of the Ministry Alh. Ya’u Muhammad Danda expressed happiness by the team’s visit. He noted that he has been following the activities of the Foundation long before now and how the Foundation has been impacting lives of vulnerable groups in the state.
He assured that the ministry will give the Foundation all the support the it needs to impact more lives in the state positively.
