Another Humanitarian Outing in Support of the Girl Child by ASATTAHIR International Foundation:

ASATTAHIR international Foundation in collaboration with Save the Child Initiative, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Human Person’s (NAPTIP) and Rashida Mohammed & Co (Rahama law Chambers) celebrated the International Day for the Girl Child, today 11th October, 2019. The celebration featured presentations and lectures for secondary school girls at the Government Girls Collage (GCC), Sokoto. Students form various Girls Schools participated in the program.
The event was meant to educate and enlighten the secondary school girls on the value and potentials of the Girl Child and the urgency for the protection of her dignity.
During the event Barrister Rashida Mohammed of Rahama law Chambers spoke on the empowerment of the Girl Child through education and entrepreneurship. On the other hand, Hajiya Hassana Mika’il spoke on the scourge of trafficking of young girls and the need for the girls to be protected from all kinds of threats by stakeholders. The foundation was represented at the event by the Chairman and founder, Aliyu Sidi Attahiru and the Executive Secretary, Dr. Yahaya Baba. During the event, Secretary of ASATTAHIR International Foundation spoke at length on the scourge of violence against the girl child. The lecture took the girls through various aspects and dimensions of violence against the girl child. It also emphasized the need for the girl children to appreciate their worth and be strong in the protection of their dignity.
The program also featured presentation of drama, cultural display and public speech by the students. It was rounded off with Goodwill messages by representatives of various organizations and closing prayer.
