The Chairman and Executive Secretary, ASATTAHIR International Foundation, on the invitation of Spotlight Initiative and WRAPA held a two hour long advocacy meeting on the plight of women and strategies for curbing abuses and persecution of women in Sokoto State. The meeting was held in the 8th February,2020 at Dankani Guest Palace and attended by Yemisi Nathaniel, the Project Coordinator WRAPA for Spotlight Initiative and Umma Rimi, the Project Assistant WRAPA for Spotlight Initiative. The meeting reflected on the major challenges undermining the dignity and empowerment of women and the strategies for women’s protection and emancipation. The stakeholders appreciated the depth of ASATTAHIR’s activities and the attention given to women and children for sustainable people’s empowerment. In attendance was also the CEO of Save the Child Initiative, Abdulganiyu Abubakar. The development partners reiterated their commitment to forging strong partnership and collaboration with active local platforms whose presence and impact in the community have been concrete and influential. After the meeting the group posed for a photograph and contacts were exchanged with the promise to keep in touch for the successful implementation of Spotlight Initiative project in Sokoto State.
